Temple Run

August 7, 2014

A few weeks ago, I visited Siem Reap in Cambodia. I got a 3-day Temple Pass so i could visit the many temples around the area. There are just so many temples and you might get overwhelmed. But if you plan out your days properly, you could be able to see almost all that Siem Reap has to offer. The very popular Angkor Wat was of course very nice to see, but my favorite is actually a little Hindu temple called Banteay Srei. It is built from red sand stones and the carvings on the stones are so intricate that the details are just so amazing. This temple is actually known as the “city of women”.

On my second day, I visited the Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm & Bayon Temple. Below is a photo of myself going up the Terrace of the Elephants.

Aside from all the temples, Siem Reap actually also has a number of other attractions. You can trek up to the waterfalls called Kbal Spean, visit the War Museum and learn more about their history, check out the Silk Farm and go shopping at the Old Market near Pub Street. Otherwise, you can just always grab a cold one along the many cute alleys near Pub street.

Seeing Siem Reap Cambodia was a different kind of experience. It was like seeing life back to the basic core of living. Life is so simple there and the people are also very nice and hard working. Their history is very rich with stories of wonder, triumph and tears. Truly, it was a great place to visit and see.
